New Toy

After our three month trip and having to experience crazy, iffy wifi service in so many different parks with some being free and some being paid for, Mark decided it was time to get an air card. Well, the only problem I saw with that was who was going to get the air card? You see, Mark and I don't share very well. So, I was the hold up becuase I didn't want to pay the monthly fee for the service on 2 cards. Now, I had talked with Bob and Molly and Glynn about a wifi system that was available for the motor home called Cradlepoint. So, we looked into it the other day and then talked with both AT&T and Verizon.

Here is what happend. We got the cradlepoint, we decided on a Verizon air card, we took them home. Then, Mark, who can barely turn on his computer, had it hooked up and working in about 3 minutes. Great job!! We now have one air card with one service and a wifi system for the motor home. And, now, Mark sits in his chair, I sit on the couch and we both use our computers at the same time, while the air card sits in the cradlepoint on the shelf at mid-coach providing us great service.

  1. Be really careful not to go over the monthly 5Gb limit. With two computers, you can get there quickly!

The penalty rate is $.25 a megabite. That is very expensive web browsing. About 50 cents for every picture sent to picassa for example.

  2. Welcome to the 21st century! :) We have an AT&T air card and don't have a monthly limit that I know of - and I'm on the computer all the time! Enjoy it!

Sounds like you guys are doing well. Take care.

  4. OK, I have to find out all the info on this. Is it costly?? Is it seperate from your ATT phone bill? I am on a real tight budget and I need not go over it for any reason. It could mean starvation or not getting to go anywhere. Let me know when you can.

PS Please tell Kenneth that Sherri and I are really proud of him and his accomplishments. He has done two things in his life that are top of the mart. Got a good education and Married into the Hall family. Doesn't get any better than that.
