On To Vegas…

Last night, when we finally decided to stop, we found that all 20 spaces were filled at the Casino RV Park.  So, we dry camped on an overflow lot.  Hey, that’s $20 I saved, and at that time, all I wanted was a place to stop for the night.

Even after the long travel day yesterday, we were up early this morning and ready to get to our next destination.  And, yeah…it’s only 207 miles!

All was quite as we left the little town of

Tonopah.

What a

beautiful early morning sight.  And, it only got

better as the sun came up over the desert mountains.

As we traveled we were amazed that

this is the best landscape we have seen in the last 500 miles.

As soon as we had cell phone service, we called to wish Jim a HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  We chit-chatted for a little while about their plans for the day.  Jim…again, hope your day was all you planned!  We miss you both.

By this time, we were beginning to see signs of

the Vegas city limits.  After a stop for fuel at the Flying J, it was on to

On To Vegas 046

our favorite Vegas RV Park.  We checked in and

settled into our site for the next couple of days.  I am glad we called ahead for reservations as the park filled up quickly as the day went on.

After catching our breath, we decided to run a few errands.  We found an

In-N-Out hamburger.  This is one of our favorite places when visiting here and the west coast.  It isn’t much, but we think it is delicious.  The menu consists of:

Hamburger or Double Hamburger

Cheeseburger or Double Cheeseburger

Fries and  a drink….

The only option for the burger is onion!

Then it was on to

Trader Joe’s.  Have I mentioned that this is my favorite new grocery store.  And, yes, Ellie, I cleared the shelf of  the 2 point snack bars and Mark stocked up on coffee beans.  And, I also picked up a

  bouquet of flowers.

Last thing on our list was a stop at Camping World for a few supplies we needed to replace.  Mark also needed to get a new connection for the electrical hook up for the Jeep.  They had just what he needed.

Now, back at the RV Park, we are watching the Texas A&M and Arkansas football game which is being played in the new cowboy stadium in Arlington.  Our daughter is an A&M graduate.  She and Kenneth are there today…she always tells her dad, look for me on TV…I am the one in maroon. LOL, and even though everyone is dressed in maroon, he will still  tell her he saw her.  However…at this point, Arkansas is ahead…not good!

Come on Aggies…let’s pick up the pace.

After the game, we are planning on going downtown and having 99 cent shrimp cocktails, watching the laser light show and hanging out at the casinos.  I hope that “head’s up penny” I found today is a lucky one!

  4. Between you and Ellie I'm never gonna get those snack bars. LOL, just kidding. Thank goodness there are THREE Trader Joe's in Vegas and hopefully they'll restock those shelves before Nov 1st.
