Canada

Friday started a little on the slow side.  We slept in, made breakfast pizza, did the laundry, and made our plan for the day.

And, around noon, with cameras and passports in hand, we headed out for a day

003

in Canada.

Once we were parked, we walked to the

011

visitor center where we purchased tickets for a couple of the local attractions.  As it would turn out, we were just in time to make the next showing of

022

Niagara's Fury.  I knew it must be more than a movie when they issued us

020

rain ponchos!  I was right...it was more like a Disney ride!

After getting all wet...we had plenty of time before the next tour, so we decided to get lunch.

Mark had heard from some of our Canadian friends that Tim Horton's coffee is good and he wanted to try some, so it was off to

018

Tim Horton's for lunch.  Not only was the coffee good, the sandwiches were great...and so were the muffins and donuts!

After a good lunch, we made our way to the

024

journey behind the falls.  Once again, we were issued rain ponchos.  LOL....there is something about this place, you are always getting wet!

We took the elevator down to the bottom of the falls where we walked through tunnels that led us to

040

portals were you could look behind the falls.

One place you could

034

walk out on a platform that is level with the bottom of the falls.

Once, we were back to the top, we just enjoyed the

057

beautiful day.

There was

045

lots of shopping

093

to be done.

And,

051

pictures to

074

pose for.

From the Canadian side, we enjoyed a different view of the

077

American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls as well as

078

Horseshoe Falls.

The

076

flowers up and

095

down the

120

parkway were beautiful.

Now, all that shopping and walking worked up some real hunger, so it was off to the

116

restaurant for dinner.  Tonight,

112

Andrew and

113

Lauren both tried Sushi!  However, I am not sure it will be ranked among their top favorites. LOL

We continued our walking until it was time for the

136

moon to come out, the

150

lights to come on and the

179

falls to light up!

What a great day this has been, but it wasn't complete without the

191

fireworks.

Afterwards, it was back across Rainbow Bridge to the USA...

Thanks...

092  Canada for a great day.

And, by the way JB...at your request, we left several US dollars there today!

  3. Just a terrific day, and your documentation makes it be just like being there, like I said before it brings back memories of a trip with my Grandparents many years ago, how many? I remember Grandpa had a 1955 Dodge. Our neighbors to the north always give us a super welcome, and Tim Horton's is a great stop, I had my first this spring in Ohio. Now we get some mailorder once in a while, I will have to keep a can or two in the trailer for when we meet up with our Canadian friends when they are down here. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

  5. Hi Mark & Dortha
I have enjoyed your blog so much. It has been really fun following along. Jerry & I were at Niagara Falls a few years ago. Great place.
I love seeing the grandchildren. They look so much like your children when they were young. Continue having fun and keep us posted. Each day I can hardly wait to see where you have been that day. Tell Lauren she looked very pretty in the hat. They are great looking kids.
Have a blessed and fun trip.

  11. Oh what a great place and they will remember that one forever too. We were there about 25 years ago, and should go back again soon. They say someday those falls will be gone, as the lip edge keeps eroding year after year.
