Today finally arrived, the day Caden and Kourtney got to
board the bus for their first summer adventure with Moppa and Poppa. Once they were snug in their
seats, we were off. Destination...
Yogi Bear Lone Star Park in Waller, Texas. This is a great park for kids and we chose a great week to be here...before all the schools are out for the summer. Our drive was about 3 1/2 hours which was just perfect. Not one "are we there yet" until about 15 miles from Waller.
They traveled great and entertained each other and us too. Once we arrived, we checked in at
The Ranger Station where we were assigned to our
site.
After getting the motor home set up, it was time for lunch. We couldn't get finished quick enough to
get outside to run and check out the park.
First, we stopped by The Ranger Station to turn in our permission slips for using the pools and water park facilities. And, while we were there,
Yogi, himself showed up. Now, we weren't quite as anxious to find Yogi as we thought...so he was admired
from a distance, while
Poppa posed for the picture.
Then it was off to check out the Comfy Station...a place for all that are younger than five. It was really a fun room with
lots of interactive walls and
stations. There were
funny mirrors to look into and
and giant shapes to ride on. This room was a big hit!
We continued our walk around the park and found the
animals at the petting zoo.
Next stop, the bus...for nap time, which was followed by a late afternoon trip to
water park.
Caden had a great time on the
slide and
dodging the falling water.
Kourtney wasn't quite sure she liked sliding without
Poppa. She was more into
watching from poolside. After all that fun, there was
a little lounging that needed to be done.
Then it was back to the motor home for baths, dinner, a short walk, and last but not least a little
small talk before heading in for bedtime.
See you all tomorrow for more adventures with Yogi!
