Just A Travel Day

Typically, we don't travel on Sunday, but today made a perfect travel day because we needed to...

New York Trip 2010 003

scoot around Louisville,

New York Trip 2010 010

creep through Cincinnati,

New York Trip 2010 015

wiggle through Columbus, and

New York Trip 2010 027

dodge orange cones as we headed toward Cleveland!

So, we decided all of this could be accomplished a little easier on Sunday than on a week day with rush hour traffic.

Plus...

We did it the old fashion way...reading a map.

It seems that there must have been something floating around the atmosphere today because...

New York Trip 2010 007

Streets and Trips could not find the GPS...nor could my Droid.  Even the

New York Trip 2010 016

satellite radio had no signal.

Now...that was what you call a real glitch in the system!

We made it just fine, even locating a Flying-J.  Here on I-71 in Ohio we paid

New York Trip 2010 028

the highest price yet for diesel.  After getting fuel... we didn't have far to go before our turn off at I-71 and State Highway 30.  Once we were on 30, we saw lots of

New York Trip 2010 033

farms and

New York Trip 2010 020

farm houses.  And, then we saw our first

New York Trip 2010 035

Amish family as they traveled home from church.  We saw signs for

New York Trip 2010 036

places we want to go tomorrow.

Soon, we arrived at the

New York Trip 2010 037

Evergreen RV Resort

New York Trip 2010 042

where we will be staying for the next several days.

A quick look around the park...

New York Trip 2010 045

the church at the front of the property,

New York Trip 2010 050

the back side of the office and laundry.  (Note to Jim...there are 18 washers and dryers!)

And,

New York Trip 2010 047

there is the indoor swimming pool.  And, yes, we have already tried it and the hot tub!

Now, we are settled in and discussing our plan for tomorrow.

Be sure you come along as we discover the

Ohio Amish Country.

  1. Fun fun fun. I like the new photo header. How did you do that.

I hope prices go down for you. What is your MPG these days.

In addition to using the Solution on the Phaeton, do you ever wax it? If so, what do you recommend?

  6. So good to finally get caught up with you. Loving the pictures of the Amish Country. We were going to Amish country in Iowa last year but due to our motor home problems we had to abort our major trip plans.

Looking forward to keeping up with you on a more regular basis now that we are done with the Portland Rose Festival.
