On To Seward...

June 13, 2014

Today, we traveled a mere 80 miles to the little town of Seward.  Other than

packing up and traveling

in the rain, the trip was a non event.

The drive from Whittier to Seward was

beautiful.  There were several

gorgeous lakes and lots of

streams and rivers along the way.  But, I never get

tired of the snow capped mountains.

We arrived in Seward, and quickly found the

Waterfront Campground.  Oh, did I say campground.  This is the first time we have stayed in a campground in ten days.  We have been spoiled by our beautiful free pullouts along the way, but, since we are here for a few days, the campground was our best option.  A little water and electricity never hurts.

And, we certainly can't complain about

the view of Resurrection Bay just out our front window.

Thank goodness, we arrived early...

because it didn't take long for the campground to fill up!

We took off to see the little

little town by the bay.

Later in the afternoon, we caught up with Wallace, Wanda, Bennit and Bea to visit the

Sea Life Center here in Seward.  We had fun watching the

Puffins, the

Harbor Seals, and

DSC_0504

Sea Lions...this one was patiently waiting for his dinner to be served.  He obviously knows that it comes from behind this door!

Afterwards, we drove

just down the road to

Miller's Landing Fish Camp to check out the menu for a possible plan for tomorrow night's dinner.  They cook the fish and everyone that comes brings a side dish.  Who knows...might just be the spot.

Time to head home.

Even though the temperatures today have held in the 50's, but, with the on and off rain, it seems a lot colder than it is...so, we all decided to do dinner tonight at our own rigs...and something warm was on my mind.

So, a pot of Chicken, Wild Rice, and Mushrooms was soon simmering on the stove.

No better way to finish off the day, a warm bowl of soup, watching

the cruise ship right out the front window of the motor home...well, that is unless

it is watching these two

bundled up crazies out for a walk!
