And...Then There Were Three!

Yesterday, we spent a great day at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.   We returned to the RV park to finishing packing and hooking up for a

late afternoon departure from this great little park.

Once again, we left

the quite back roads and

the folks

We were met with

dark clouds as we made our way

New York Trip 2010 181 on to the New York State Thruway heading towards

New York Trip 2010 188 New York City.

We traveled on to our evening destination...one of the most

expensive campgrounds there is...Wal Mart!  This one is located just south of Newburgh, New York, and my one night's stay cost me $87.50. LOL...so much for free camping!

Here we anxiously awaited the arrival of Zachary, grandchild #3, who is joining us for the rest of the trip.

Circumstances this summer didn't allow him to leave Texas when we did as he had been invited to play in an invitational baseball tournament.  After his tournament, he and Greg flew to meet Kate in London, England who had been in Madrid, Spain on business.

They arrived late last night at JFK, drove up to Newburgh, spent the night, and this morning

Zachary arrived.

Now, we have three travelers...

It was still too early for us to check into the RV Park so we just sit back and had a good visit.  The kids were filling Zachary in about all we have done and Zachary was telling them all about his trip to England.  Before we knew it, it was time to head to the RV Park.

We only had about a 10 mile trip down a

New York Trip 2010 008

rural road, to yet a

New York Trip 2010 012

smaller road that led to the

Newburgh/New York City KOA.  This will be our home for the next 8 days.

We were soon checked in and

parked in our site.

Once we were set up, we all headed back in towards town for lunch at Wendy's before Kate and Greg had to leave.  They would be taking a late afternoon flight to Dallas.

We had our hugs and they headed south and we headed north.  Once we were back at the park, I decided to tackle the laundry while Mark cleaned windows and put on the screens.

As for my three travelers...they took off for the front of the park to ride

these crazy bikes and

the fire truck.

They have spent all afternoon running

around the park.  Up and down

every road they could find.

I think they will all sleep very well tonight!

Before, I close this entry...again, I want to thank you all for the many notes, cards, and calls I received today wishing me a Happy Birthday.  It is has been great to hear from family and friends all across the country.

I am so blessed!

  3. Hey Dortha... a friend was just asking me how we could plan to go full-time and do we know what we would miss out on with our grandkids by it? I gave her the link to your blog to show what wonderful adventures that can be had with the grandkids by traveling grandparents.

The stuff you have shown these grandkids in the last 2 weeks has been amazing and will be remembered forever.

You are an inspiration to us grandparents all over, ready to make the leap to full-timing!
