It is time for a lot of things, but, first and foremost...
It Is Time for this blog to be updated. I can't really believe that it has been so long since I last posted. Not like me at all, but, during the winter and with no big travel plan, our lives become so routine. And, who really wants to hear about that on a daily basis. However, I have become a little slow in both blogging and picture taking. But, it has been drawn to my attention and the question asked...what happened to the Blog? So,
It is time to catch up. I guess in order to that I have to think about where we left off and to my astonishment, I found that when I last posted, we were returning to Texas from Missouri. That was early last fall. We arrived in town in time to join in for a couple of family birthday parties and have family portraits done.
We unloaded the motor home and lightened the weight from all the stuff we had taken along to Sedalia for Escapades. Plus, just stuff we accumulate. However, we unloaded, only to start reloading in preparation to head to our winter residence in the Rio Grande Valley. So, after just a few short weeks in Fort Worth...
It was Time, and, we were off to Retama.
We were off to a great start...lots of activities planned, but...all was soon put on hold. Mark had to have foot surgery to remove the remains of a splinter that was from an earlier accident. It was quite an ordeal as it had formed an abbess. Long story short here, he was out of commission for almost 2 months. In fact, we didn't even come back to Fort Worth until right before Christmas and even then, we left the motor home at Retama and drove the Jeep home. We enjoyed our holiday time in Fort Worth...even having an unusual "White Christmas". We returned to the RGV in early January. Mark saw the surgeon for one last visit, and finally...
It was Time to start enjoying our beautiful mild Texas winter. Of, course, those routine days mean...pool time, gun range tournaments, projects, bike rides, shopping, trips to Mexico, and, there is always time for an evening out with friends.
We did do a couple of fun trips. We went on a bike ride at Christmas with Santa and had a Christmas celebration with the kids at the Buckner Home. What a rewarding time.
We also took advantage of a great Groupon and when on a Boat Trip with a group of 16 other Retama friends. We traveled to South Padre Island and traveled from Port Isabel through the Laguna Madre to the Port of Brownsville and afterwards enjoyed lunch on the island. It was a fun day with friends.
We also realized that we now spend more time at Retama than anywhere else. In fact, we find ourselves staying there about 6 or 7 months out of the year. One of the things that have made it like home is our church. We have been going to church there for several years, and feel a real closeness there. So, we moved our home membership to First Baptist in McAllen.
Where the time goes, I do not know, but, before we knew it, everyone was beginning to pack up and head to their summer destinations. And, we too, knew...
It was Time...for us to pack up the motor home, close up the coach house, and start our trip North. We arrived here in Fort Worth in late April. We have been enjoying time with the kids, doing projects here around the house, and visiting with family. But, even that time is quickly passing and we are once again realizing that...
It is time...to rearrange the bays, clean out the cabinets, and get ready to continue our trip North. I also realized that we have almost come full circle with this blog, because, as I last left you...we had just completed the 2012 Escapade Rally, and this next week, we will be leaving to make our way to Gillette, WY, where we will be preparing for Escapades 2013. We can't wait to catch up with old friends, and as always look forward to meeting and making new friends. But, between now and next weekend...
It is Time...
for us to enjoy what time we have here in Fort Worth with the family...and, believe me, they have a full week planned!
And...
It is Time for me to dust off the camera lens and the keyboard and keep this blog a little more current...see you down the road!
