Everything In Its Place and Movin' On

Since I last posted we have stayed very busy. By Thursday evening I had all but one box unpacked and put away. Now, whether or not I can find anything is yet to be determined. There is a lot of space, just different space. We made several trips to Walmart, Office Depot and Target for things we thought we needed. A basket, a rug or two, another basket.... and on and on. I even bought a new bath mat set, but had to return it because it didn't fit. And, all these trips in the rain from Gustav. Man, was he a pain. I was glad that by the time we pulled out on Friday, that we had the promise of a little sun.

Everything in its place...

Our first day without rain at Audubon Point and guess what. It is time to move on...

We drove just 26 miles from Memphis over to Tunica to meet up with John and Bridget. We camped out at Sam's Town RV Park. We had a great weekend. What fun to have friends to meet up with along the way.

Mark and John checked out the outside TV on the motor home, watching football. We cooked out before John and Bridget went to see Rodney Carrington. Mark and I just walked up to the casino and hung out around the penny slots for a while.

Yesterday before packing up to leave, the four of us walked up to the breakfast buffet. All I can say is I am glad we walked because that meant we had to walk back. And, I needed that return walk after the breakfast Mark and John ate.

We said our good byes and planned for another time when we could get together. Well, we were off to head to Red Bay, Alabama for a stay at the Allegro Campground, better known as Camp Red Bay.

We arrived in Red Bay early afternoon. We checked in to the RV Park and received our packet of instructions to be completed in preparation for service. We also found out that in addition to the ones that were already here, 40 rigs had checked in today for service. Oh, what fun this is going to be. Jim and Ellie have been here 2 weeks and still aren't finished. I guess we will see.

We walked down to let Jim and Ellie know we were here to find out that she had prepared dinner for the four of us. It was yum, Mark's favorite...pot roast, potatoes, carrots, salad, and strawberry shortcake. Thanks Ellie!!

Well, with a full tummy, we headed back to the motor home to complete our service report which had to be turned in by 8 p.m. I think we ended up with 25 or so issues. Thank goodness most of them are minor fixes.

It is now Monday morning and we were up early as things at Camp Red Bay get started by 7 a.m. We will have to wait until the service tech comes to our site to discuss all of concerns and then they will start to schedule us to get into the different service bays. In other words, it is hurry up and wait. In addition to getting the wrong things right, we also want to get an additional awning and a couple of max air vents installed. That process is separate from the repair work and is scheduled for after hours. All I can say is that this is a busy place with all the coming and going of motor homes and service techs and golf carts. I am glad I have several projects to keep me busy during this waiting process, but Mark might be a different story as his patience has a little to be desired. Stay posted on how that plays out.

  1. We're glad to have you as "down the street" neighbors here at Camp Red Bay!

Your Palace is beautiful and elegant, just like you.

If Mark needs any projects, send him on over, I'm sure we can find something for him to do...

    Hugs,
    Ellie

Hope to see you in the chat room.

  4. Hey I like the new digs. Are you headed back to Texas when the repairs are done? I am waiting to get my electric hooked up at our place. I took today off to see about it. Can't wait for the tour.

  5. The rig is just gorgeous! I know you are enjoying settling in and getting to know it.

Having spent a bit of time at "Camp Monaco" this past spring, we know what you're feeling. Just sit back and enjoy the down time. :)
