Another Beautiful Weekend

Since I last posted, another week has gone by.  We have had some chilly wet days that we did nothing and we have had a couple of days that we managed an outing even though the weather wasn’t great.  And, then the promise of a beautiful weekend lifted our spirits.

Yesterday,  Mark and I decided to take out and enjoy that much promised sunshine.  So, we headed into  Winter at Retama 093   the bird park for a good walk.  We passed this little guy sitting high in the trees.  Before long we came to a trail that was marked for hiking only.  So, we took it.

We wandered through the woods until we came out on the the other side of the park.  We then saw yet another trail that took us

down to the river.  On our way back we saw an observation area for hawks.  We didn’t see any hawks, but did see a few ducks.  Then it was back up to the main park road.  We crossed paths with

Winter at Retama 017 the Javelina who was out enjoying the day.   By this time, we are both ready to head for home.  So, seven and half miles later we landed in the lawn chairs in the shade of the motor home.  But, what a great time we had.

After a rest and a shower, it was time to get ready for the evening.  We gathered by the pool with our Retama family where we were treated to a

Winter at Retama 077 great barbeque dinner catered by Rudy’s.  After dinner there was a live band and dancing.  It was a great evening.

Today, has been just as good with the warm sunshine present.  We took a short walk and then stopped in and had a nice visit with Jack and Danielle.

I can’t believe we have been here almost 2 months.  I am not sure where the time has gone.  We still have one more week and a couple adventures to get in before we leave…guess we will see how they turn out.  As for now, I am going to enjoy the last of the warm sunshine for this afternoon.

They are so colorful! I read over several of the post you did and it looks like the whole gang is there for sure. I know you guys are having a GREAT time. Have fun & travel safe!
