A Day In Seattle

Our adventure today took us down

Olympic National Park 001

the road and

Olympic National Park 003

across the Hood Canal Bridge to Bainbridge Island. Here we parked

Olympic National Park 009

the Jeep and

Olympic National Park 010

paid our $10.00 for the day. We then

Olympic National Park 015

loaded on to the ferry and made our way across Puget Sound to

Olympic National Park 044

Seattle. Upon docking at

Olympic National Park 046

the pier, we walked ourselves several blocks

Olympic National Park 050

past the art museum and through the

Olympic National Park 047

streets of Seattle to

Olympic National Park 062

Lola’s. This is a restaurant that we have seen on Food TV and we were all after the

Olympic National Park 069 made to order donuts served with vanilla mascarpone cheese and huckleberry jam. Yummy! Now, after a mid-morning treat like this, it was a good thing we had lots of walking ahead of us for the day.

We were back out on the sidewalks of Seattle were we got a good view

Olympic National Park 066

of the Space Needle and

Olympic National Park 039

Quest Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks.

We kept walking and finally arrived at the major attraction for the day and our main reason for coming to Seattle. And, that was

Olympic National Park 054 Pike Market. This is the biggest farmer’s market I have ever seen. There were

Olympic National Park 116 watermelons,

Olympic National Park 096

strawberries and blackberries, peaches and

Olympic National Park 122

pastries! Then, there were

Olympic National Park 084

flowers and

Olympic National Park 081

more flowers. But, then came

Olympic National Park 106

the fish market….with

Olympic National Park 100

shrimp,

Olympic National Park 101

lobster,

Olympic National Park 103

salmon, and

Olympic National Park 108

crab! Wow…is all I could say.

Now, believe it or not…after those donuts and walking and looking, the guys decided it was lunchtime. LOL

We made the decision when we saw

Olympic National Park 124

The Pike Place Chowder Cafe. There I had

Olympic National Park 123

seafood bisque and a crab salad sandwich. The rest chose clam chowder and the crab sandwich. Another great choice. And, after a delicious lunch, we headed to

Olympic National Park 126

Tully’s for coffee beans. Then, we stopped by

Olympic National Park 128

Sephora’s, where Ellie and I needed to replace some make-up items. We also made a stop at

Olympic National Park 127

the T Shirt store.

As we headed back by the market to get Ellie some

Olympic National Park 086

pretty flowers, we were

Olympic National Park 129

entertained by this guy on the street corner.

Finally, it was time to head back to the pier, but not before taking one more look at all the

Olympic National Park 119

fruits and

Olympic National Park 132

veggies.

Oh, I almost forgot…there was one last stop….and that was by

Olympic National Park 053

Fran’s, another place that has been featured on Food TV. And, yes….we did all get some

Olympic National Park 135

chocolate.

We then made our way back to the pier, loaded on the ferry headed back to Bainbridge Island where we

Olympic National Park 169

first started this morning. What a finish to an awesome day!

  4. Just had to let you know that's not the Kingdome. The Kingdome was torn down YEARS ago and a new stadium was built called Qwest Field.
