Port Townsend and Fort Worden State Park

This morning the four of us headed into Port Townsend.  First on the list for Ellie and I was the local Weight Watchers meeting.  What a great leader we had today which made for a really fun meeting.  We sat with two other ladies that live at the SKP RV Park  where we are staying.  We had a nice visit with them and learned a little about the park and the town of Port Townsend.  They even gave us a great tip on a little place to have breakfast.

So, when Mark and Jim came back to pick us up from the meeting, it was off to

Fort Warden State Park and Beach 003 Fort Warden State Park and Beach 004

Harbor Point Cafe for an excellent breakfast.  The

view wasn’t bad either!

Next, we made a stop back by a little shop Mark and Jim had visited while we were at our WW meeting.  Mark had his eye on two new lawn chairs and we had two that needed to be replaced.  Great find.

Now, while we were in Port Townsend, we decided to make a trip just to the edge of town to Fort Worden State Park and home of the

While here, we enjoyed the

beaches, the

big ships, and the

little boats.  You can catch a glimpse of Mt. Baker across the Sound.

We drove through Fort Worden and stopped for a tour of the

Fort Warden State Park and Beach 055

visitor center and gift store which is housed in the Fort Guardhouse.

Upon leaving and heading back to town, we saw

this mom and babe crossing the street.

It was then time to get back to the RV Park.  Deb and Rob would be arriving before long for dinner.  We grilled brats and had potato salad, corn on the cob, zucchini, and strawberry pie, and a great visit.

  1. Good Morning, I was so thrilled this morning when I got up and saw your post on Port Townsend & Fort Worden State Park... Glad you enjoyed your day there. Did you get to see the campground out on the point? Beautiful pictures and I so enjoyed your narration of them!

  2. It has been years since I saw Mt. Baker. I used to have a lovely view of it from my kitchen and living room windows when I lived in Bellingham, WA.
As usual, a lovely journal. Thank you.
