Good Friends and Good Food

Today is Saturday and no work on the motor home, so we decided to go with Ellie and Jim to the Alabama State Barbecue Cook off. However, we decided that after having to get up so early every day this past week, we would not be in a rush to leave this morning. So, around 10:30, Jim and Ellie drove down and picked us up and we were off.

Ellie and I had spied a little gift shop in downtown Red Bay, so this was the first stop on our agenda for the day. Cute shop!

Ellie is across the street taking my picture while I am taking hers.

Arriving at Riverfest in Decatur, Alabama. on the banks of the Tennessee River.

This was our choice for lunch...Mark, Jim, and I had pulled pork, Ellie had chicken
Yum...

Smokers come in all sizes and shapes, these are a few we saw today

How would you like your motor home to look like this one?

Rubber Duck race

And the winner is...

Well, with the conclusion of the duck races and after listening to a little music, we headed back towards Red Bay. We made a stop at Walmart to get a few items for grilling hamburgers tomorrow as no stores are open in Red Bay on Sunday. We had a great time today. Thanks Jim and Ellie for inviting us to join you today. We are looking forward to another relaxing day tomorrow.
