A Little Progress

We were up early this morning knowing that there was the a good possibility that we would be moved to a full hookup site. So, by 7:00 a.m. we were up, showered, dressed and had had breakfast.

Mark left to go to the parts center to purchase a knob and a handle

for our new file cabinet/end table that we had made before we left Fort Worth.

I then started in with some filing that I had let pile up and had almost finished when two of the service techs knocked on the door. They were here to see what they could accomplish on the "things to do list"

First,

they took the microwave oven and

then they took TV.

It wasn't long until Nancy called from the office to let us know she had a full hook up site for us. We were assigned to one site, but asked if we could wait on Site #76 because that would allow us to park

right beside Ellie and Jim and

right behind Glynn and Sylvia.

Wow, if you have to be in Red Bay for service work, how nice it is to be parked with friends.

We settled in to our home site. That meaning, now the service techs will know just where to find us each day. So now, we now we just waiting on Norris to come and work us into the schedule for the rest of the work. So while we waited...

We decided to get with Jim and Ellie and make a plan or two. Our computers were humming, the map pages were turning, and the phone lines were busy as we began to make plans for our summer/fall trip. After all was said and done, we have a plan! We will meet up with them late June in Custer, SD...then on to Montana to see Mike and Jana...down to Yellowstone...then off to Idaho...and up to Washington. These places have such a busy summer season, we decided we needed to lock in some RV parks so the jello doesn't wiggle too much. LOL What happens from there will be decided in the next planning session.

However, all that planning made us really hungry, so we loaded up an went to the local Mexican Food Cafe for a great dinner. We are all now settled in and we will just have to wait until morning to see if the progress continues.

Reunion At Camp Red Bay

Last night we spent the night in Philadelphia, Mississippi at the Golden Moon Casino. John and Bridget drove up from Jackson to meet us. We went to the casino for the buffet dinner. John assured me that the food points were 2 for 1 last night. LOL I did pass on the bread pudding! After dinner we each choose a few slot machines in which we each left a small contribution to the benefit of the casino. Maybe I will get back there sometime to reclaim it. We did have a free RV site for the night, so I guess it was an even trade. Bottom line...we had a great visit with John and Bridget. As always, our visit was over way too soon, and it was time to say our "see you laters". We can't wait for them to sell their house and John to retire from his local fire department so they can make some trips with us.

After our late night visit, this morning came quickly, and we were up and making plans for our leg into Red Bay. But, oh, no....it didn't go real smooth. Mark started the generator so we could have electricity. First we turned on the heat to take the chill out, then he started to make his coffee, but the coffee maker had died. Oh no....no coffee for him is worse than no Diet Dr. Pepper for me. LOL After some mumbling from under his breath, he decided he would heat the water in the microwave for some coffee, and it was at that point that he decided that the generator had never really kicked in. After checking several places, he found that something had tripped the breaker for the generator. Now, with that fixed, he took a deep breath, had his make shift coffee and we started our journey to Red Bay. Thank goodness, it was totally uneventful.

We arrived in Red Bay around noon only to find out that the park was full and that we would have to go to the overflow area known as the "runway". We parked, got our list of repairs, warranty items, etc. ready to turn in, had hugs from Jim and Ellie, and made plans to go to Subway for a sandwich. By the time we got back from Subway, the office called and said they had temporary site, water and electricity only, for us and that by tomorrow they should have a site with full hookups ready available for us. Okay, water and electric is better than nothing on the runway.....so we moved. Afterwards, we piled in the car with Jim and Ellie and went to the Walmart in Russelville, about 20 miles, to get a few groceries and Mark a new coffee pot. Ellie and I also found the new Hungry Girl cookbook.

We returned to Camp Red Bay to settle in for the evening. We are having dinner at Jim and Ellie's along with Glynn and Sylvia who are also here at Camp Red Bay having warranty work done. The six of us are really going to have to stop meeting at this place. But, then, when you consider that the campsites are "free" while you are here having work done, maybe it is a good place to meet.

Tomorrow we will wait for Norris to come by to review our list of concerns and schedule us for a service bay and we will just have to see if that "full hookup site" becomes available. In the meantime, there is not much to do, except sit back and enjoy Camp Red Bay! Stay tuned for how the few days or weeks turn out.

Heading East on I-20

Today, we were up before 5:00 a.m. By the time we showered, dressed, put the last few things away both inside and out, it was time for Mark to make his way to the Cummins Dealer. We had a scheduled recall for a engine/computer update. I left shortly after him, but had to make a stop by Kroger's and then the bank.

I made my way from the west side of Fort Worth through the early morning rush hour traffic through downtown and to the north side of Fort Worth to meet up with Mark.

By the time I reached the Cummin's dealer, Mark was waiting on me. We decided to go for breakfast at the Cracker Barrel while they were working on the motor home. We had a good breakfast, too many points, but it was good. Mark said we would just skip lunch. LOL After, breakfast we did a little shopping in the gift shop and found a new 2009 edition of "The Next Exit". That is a pretty handy book to have if you aren't familiar with it. It gives you a listing of all the exits on the interstates where you can find food, fuel, rest areas, etc. The stops that are big enough for RVs are listed in red. It has kept us from getting into a bind on a several occasions, plus you can look ahead for the next fuel stop, etc.

So, after breakfast and shopping, we made our way a couple of miles back down I-35 to Cummins. They were finishing with the update just as we were driving up. We found that all was good, hooked up, and headed out down I-35 South to 287 and across to I-20 East. We survived the trip through Arlington, Grand Prairie, and Duncanville. I call that area the trip through "idiotville" and am always glad to get beyond that point. The weather today is overcast and breezy with an occasional sprinkle of rain. I hope we see the sunshine before the day is over.

We are planning to make it to Philadelphia, Mississippi this evening where we will dry camp for the night. We are meeting John and Bridgett for dinner and a little action at the local casino. Tomorrow we will travel on into Red Bay, Alabama to the Allegro Campground, where we will have the last of the warranty work done on the motor home.

To John and Brenda, enjoy your last leg through Texas, stay safe, and I am so sorry we will be missing your stop in Fort Worth this evening. I hope you enjoy our Texas Bluebonnets along the highway.

2 Year Olds X 2

This day started before 6:oo. Yes, Deb, that is in the a.m. I had to up, showered, dressed, and have a head start on the day because,

I have 2 helpers for the day! And they are quite busy little humans.

And, of course, everyone know that breakfast tastes better at Moppa's house.

And watching the Wiggles from the big bed is more fun

We had a fun day. We read books, played blocks. They helped me with the laundry and by the time we got that chore finished, it was time for chicken nuggets from Wendy's. After lunch, we made our way to Scott's house for naptime, where we stayed for the rest of the afternoon. We were definately ready for a break from the motor home.

Kourtney is spending the rest of the evening with us while Karen is at Science Night at school, and Caden was off with his mom and dad for his first haircut.

Needless to say with a 21 month old and a 23 month old this day had been anything but boring!

Mark's New Venture, The Solution

Today...

the UPS truck arrived with

these boxes. Inside, is the product for Mark's new venture.

He is now a distributor for a product called, "The Solution"

This is a waterless wash product with polymers and UV protection. You just spray it on any solid surface, wipe it off, and buff. It is for use on RV's, trucks, cars, boats, motorcycles, and ATV's. The Solution is non-toxic and can be used in any weather. A gallon will do a 40' RV five times end to end. The solution can also be used inside on mirrors, windows, showers, counters, and TV's.

It will sell for $18.00/quart or $40.00/gallon, plus shipping.

Who's Remodeling?

Saturday started early for what was planned as a busy day. Karen had an early hair appointment, while Kenneth waited on the contractors to arrive and get started. Kourtney and I hung out in the motor home.

There is nothing like a Saturday morning in your pj's with a cup of milk, and cartoons!

Then there was Mark...

who was up to a little remodel job of his own!

Then by noon everything was in full swing...Karen, Kenneth headed out for errands and Mark and I made our way to Arlington for Zachary's baseball game. Wow...3 RBI's.

After the ballgame,it was back to the westside of Fort Worth to catch our breath and get ready for dinner with the boys and their families. It was a little belated birthday dinner with Scott.

What a busy day that was.

Sunday started out about the same. The contractors were busy back at work, and Kourtney was once again confined to the motorhome. She did really well.

After lunch with Kourtney, it was time to leave the motor home to the girls for naptime. Mark and I had plans to meet Glynn and Sylvia in Arlington for lunch. They were here for a few days and called to let us know they were in the area. We had a good visit with them and got to meet Glynn's niece, Colinda. We ate at Olive Garden which was yummy as usual.

Afterwards, we ran a few errands and then it was back to the house. By the time we got home the contractors had finished for the day. These pictures are the progress for yesterday and today...
