Connecticut Bound

After spending a week on Cape Cod, it was time to pack up and leave our

Connecticut 001

secluded little spot at Peter's Pond.

We enjoyed the park.  We just wished we had been able to have a space with 50 amp service.  The 30 amp service was really "iffy" and would barely run the coffee pot.  The microwave struggled and there was no way we could run either a/c.  With the high humidity we could have used them.

However, we stayed on the go most of the days and by evening when we returned, it was somewhat cooler.  Even, though we slept with the windows open, the air was still pretty sticky, however, neither one of us melted.  But, I have to say we were both glad to be heading out this morning knowing that at the end of our 130 mile trip we would have 50amp service.

With that said, I would probably go back there, just not in August and the location was great for visiting all of the Cape.

We finally pulled out around 10:00, and wiggled our

Connecticut 005

way off the Cape and made our way to 195 West and on to I-95S.

We had an uneventful travel day, making only one stop at the Connecticut Visitor Center.  We arrived in East Lyme at

Connecticut 069

Aces High RV Park by early afternoon.  We checked into the

Connecticut 073

office and actually ended up extending our stay until Sunday.

We settled in

Connecticut 063

to our site, and first thing turned on both a/c units. LOL

After a bite of lunch, we decided to get out and locate the Wal-Mart store.  It has been weeks since I shopped in a Wal-Mart store and we had a long list of some much needed items.

By the time we returned to the campground, it was almost dinner time.  While I put the groceries away and made a salad, Mark started the grill for the chicken.

This evening, I took a walk around the park.  It only has 90 sites and most of them are pull-through sites.  There are a few back-in sites by this

Connecticut 053

pretty little lake.

I am looking forward to getting out and about tomorrow to travel up and down the

Connecticut 036

back roads of Connecticut.

  1. We've had 30 amps through most of Alaska but it's been good 30 amp. We have 30 amp right now and I'm actually running the A/C. THAT has happened much up here.

  4. Looks like a pretty area to explore. Glad you got both AC units running, as this heat wave is still in the Great Lakes and continuing your way!
