Today, we finished packing up the motor homes and said good bye to
Glacier National Park. What a great adventure and this is certainly an area I would come back to sometime.
We pulled out of the RV Park as I turned on
my new toy. I got the 2009 edition of Microsoft Streets and Trips with GPS for my computer. Now, I feel like a real navigator. I can now tell Mark where to go…but, most of all, I can enlarge the print enough to read the map.
Let’s go, and see how this thing works. We drove through Hungry Horse
and those silly clouds that almost lay on the ground. It wasn’t long until the overcast sky
became dark and
we turned to travel through the Flathead Indian Reservation and it wasn’t long until we were able to
enjoy the calm after the storm. Just down the way, we said good bye to Montana, and hello to
Idaho. We also entered Pacific time zone and added an hour to our day. Then, first
we had to watch out for rocks before we could
go down hill. But, when we came down the hill, there
Lake Coeur d’ Alene. At this point we were just a few miles from Blackwell Island RV Park, our home for the next few days.
Once we were settled in, we called Jenny, yet another RV Dreamer friend, to let her know we were here. She and Richard drove over from Spokane, which is about 20 miles. We had a nice visit and then went out to a great Mexican dinner. She and Richard headed back to Spokane and we have settled in back at the RV Park as the rain seems to have settled in for the evening. We are hoping for sunshine tomorrow. Jenny is coming back over and is going to be our guide for a trip around the lake, a little site seeing, and a stop at the casino for dinner and a little fun at the slots.
Hey guys... I know what you mean... I love Glacier and could go back again too. We have had the Microsoft Streets & Trips ever since we began RVing... It is the best! I tried Co-pilot and thought I loved it but they redesigned and I no longer cared for it. Have fun with your new toy. I know you will love it!
