Happy Birthday….Mark

Today is Mark’s 62nd birthday and he has anxiously awaited this date so he could get his senior national park pass! We promised him to be in an area where he could get one. So, this morning, we headed out of

Tacoma on I-5 West and

crossed the Tacoma Narrows Bridge that took us across Punget Sound. Wow…

this is a place I’ve only read about until today. And, I am soaking it all in. We then traveled on and

passed by Bremerton. There were alot of Navy ships there. This is a area we will go back to for a day trip.

Soon we found ourselves crossing over

The Hood Canal. From there it was a short distance to the Escapees Park where we planned to stay. Now, remember…they don’t take reservations, but they did have one site available and one that was to be available later today. Okay, that was good….but wait, Shirley, the office manager, heard that we were wanting to stay for three weeks. With that thought in mind, she told us we could rent the leased sites for 30 days and it would be cheaper than the weekly rate. Sounded like a deal to us…so

for $275 plus electric we are settled into our

sites until after Labor Day or all the way until September 18 if we so desire! And, even if we leave in three weeks as originally planned we will still be ahead of the game $$ wise!

As for right this minute, we are off to see what the area has to offer.
