Our adventure today took us down
the road and
across the Hood Canal Bridge to Bainbridge Island. Here we parked
the Jeep and
paid our $10.00 for the day. We then
loaded on to the ferry and made our way across Puget Sound to
Seattle. Upon docking at
the pier, we walked ourselves several blocks
past the art museum and through the
streets of Seattle to
Lola’s. This is a restaurant that we have seen on Food TV and we were all after the
made to order donuts served with vanilla mascarpone cheese and huckleberry jam. Yummy! Now, after a mid-morning treat like this, it was a good thing we had lots of walking ahead of us for the day.
We were back out on the sidewalks of Seattle were we got a good view
of the Space Needle and
Quest Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks.
We kept walking and finally arrived at the major attraction for the day and our main reason for coming to Seattle. And, that was
Pike Market. This is the biggest farmer’s market I have ever seen. There were
strawberries and blackberries, peaches and
pastries! Then, there were
flowers and
more flowers. But, then came
the fish market….with
shrimp,
lobster,
salmon, and
crab! Wow…is all I could say.
Now, believe it or not…after those donuts and walking and looking, the guys decided it was lunchtime. LOL
We made the decision when we saw
The Pike Place Chowder Cafe. There I had
seafood bisque and a crab salad sandwich. The rest chose clam chowder and the crab sandwich. Another great choice. And, after a delicious lunch, we headed to
Tully’s for coffee beans. Then, we stopped by
Sephora’s, where Ellie and I needed to replace some make-up items. We also made a stop at
the T Shirt store.
As we headed back by the market to get Ellie some
pretty flowers, we were
entertained by this guy on the street corner.
Finally, it was time to head back to the pier, but not before taking one more look at all the
fruits and
veggies.
Oh, I almost forgot…there was one last stop….and that was by
Fran’s, another place that has been featured on Food TV. And, yes….we did all get some
chocolate.
We then made our way back to the pier, loaded on the ferry headed back to Bainbridge Island where we
first started this morning. What a finish to an awesome day!
What a wonderful day! Love where you're at and what your doing... Have Fun!

Sounds awesome. I love that place and hope to return some day.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few flowers at that place alright....
ReplyDeleteJust had to let you know that's not the Kingdome. The Kingdome was torn down YEARS ago and a new stadium was built called Qwest Field.
