Jenny met us this afternoon at the RV Park and we all headed out for a drive around
the lake. It isn’t a very wide lake, but it’s length is about 32 miles.
There was a lot of
beautiful water front property and we saw several
folks out in their boats taking advantage of a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
We all took advantage of several stops for a
few good photos.
All the way around the lake there were
many little bay areas. And, we even saw a group
of islands where
several pelicans had gathered. I am not sure why they didn’t choose one of the larger islands to meet.
As we drove on around the back side of the lake Jenny pointed out a place were
the St. Joe River runs between two lakes.
Chatcolet Lake and
this would be looking towards Round Lake.
We noticed that even in August….
some of the leaves are beginning to turn to fall colors!
And we saw
fields that were ready for harvest. And,
barns that will hold that hay.
After our tour around the lake, we drove to
the Coeur D’Alene casino. We had an excellent dinner where we continued our visit with Jenny. After filling up at the buffet, we ventured into the casino for a little exercise with the slots. Before I knew it, it was time for us to get back into town. We had hugs from Jenny who was going to catch the bus back to Spokane, which is about 30 miles or so.
As we drove back to the RV Park, we were able to
enjoy a beautiful sunset to end another great day.
Thanks Jenny for sharing your Coeur D’Alene Lake with us!
