Yesterday we woke up to a chilly wind and none of us were moving too fast. We treated ourselves to a total down day. It went something like this…
Deb brought over her computer and made herself at home in Mark’s recliner. I had my computer and made myself at home on the sofa…and there we stayed for most of the day.
Mark and Rod made themselves at home in the lawn chairs outside with the TV and all the college football they could stand.
Finally late afternoon, I put together some chicken fried rice and a salad. After dinner, Rod made another great fire which we enjoyed for the remainder of the evening.
This morning, we were up and made the decision that it was time to move on down the road. So, we packed up and
headed South on 101. It was such a beautiful drive around the ocean and
the bays. Through
the forest and
the little towns. We even crossed a
a big bridge over
Yaquina Bay. At this point we were only a short distance to 0ur destination…
South Beach State Park. This is definitely a better park than where we were. The sites
are more open, we have satellite and internet. Deb is a happy camper!
We are parked just across the street from the 1/4 mile trail that leads to the beach. Maybe I will take a walk to see the sunset. But, first, we are going into town for fish and chips.
And, that will just about wrap up this weekend.
Yay, glad you are in a great place! We're still enjoying the Troutdale area, but will be happy to get to the coast soon.
ReplyDeleteTake care and keep having fun.
